Okay so in today’s blog I wish to take you guys through the quest of where Lifestyleaddxct all really started and that is through my love of food but inability to eat absolutely anything I want because it would have a negative impact on my skin and internal happenings. I created Lifestyleaddxct initially with the goal in mind of aiming to repair the damage to my skin barrier through inspiring and liaising with others and it is something that was massively aiding to my development and I know that it had a big impact on a lot of people in it’s early stages. However, with the rise of new health concerns and pressures from other angles, I brought Lifestyleaddxct as an Instagram page to a halt and began on another online adventure where I can hopefully inspire you to make positive changes to your health and wellbeing through more interactive means. Now that I have gotten that all out of the way, I will now tell you how I locate the fruits and my medical defences for doing so. Enjoy
About eczema:
For a long time, I believed that my eczema was a hindrance to my life when in fact it was actually a blessing because it allowed me to learn more about it and how I can use that knowledge to inspire others, which I have referenced on countless occasions; so much so, that you probably now just want to find the fruits.
Eczema is an auto immune disease caused as a result of cortisol imbalances that produces inflammation through the body and can produce flaky, itchy and dry skin. It can be easily triggered by stress and clothing choice alongside the other more obvious factors such as diet, the physical environment and genetics also. Remember that: It doesn’t make you any less attractive or desirable – you are amazing and perfect just the way you are!
Further, the reason I wish to relate the problem of eczema to something as exciting as honey and sugar is because for a long time I utilised steroid creams frequently to try to reduce the magnitude of my break-outs when it fact these were short-term solutions that may have dealt with the impact of the flare ups but in turn, would cause me to be massively dependent on them and fear the effects of the long time usage of such creams. That being said, I would still advise seeking advice from your doctor if you flare up is worsening or not improving.
Sometimes, it can be hard to distinguish between feelings and symptoms of bloatedness but these are a few point worth noting when it comes to this and for my women in particular who may be reading this. Consider Estrogen: Estrogen leads to more water production at certain points in a woman’s cycle i.e. leading up to her period. With men, there are also hormone imbalances that you should watch out for i.e. low levels of testosterone which is frequently disregarded.
Below are some of the activities I do and things I consume to reduce my feelings of bloatedness – I believe that these can aid you in your food consumption choice as they have been massively effective for me:
-Showering and bathing works in the same way that yoga and abdominal massages do because the warm/hot water stretches out your muscles.
-Drinking water flushes out the system and green tea contains antioxidants which protects the body against diseases.
-Adding fibers to your diet allows food to be absorbed better and works to prevent diarrhea. Some include oats, beans, citrus fruits etc. Probiotics help to restore the natural balance of bacteria in your stomach.
**Be mindful that drastic changes to your diet can cause problems which is why I’d also urge people to be careful of supplements and exactly what nutrients they are replacing. Make gradual changes, be mindful of the impacts of certain food and keep a log. Some probiotics include yoghurt, soft cheeses and pickles.
About the fruits:
On my very special week of filming the bulk of scenes for my new music video which you can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QI94FTJqWD4 , I found myself just naturally integrating fruits and somewhat of good, sugared chocolates and sweets into my diet and I had a blast and definitely wanted to share this with you all. So, below I will describe some of the small meals that don’t trigger me wrongly and they may work for you as well if you try any…
Raspberries and Microwave Oats – Exquisite
This is the easiest, laziest, most gentle tasting meal of the morning which will see you through very well into the afternoon. It contains raspberries which are part of the berry family that helps to neutralise the harm of free radicals in being antioxidising and also to reduce the risk of heart disease. Oats are also a very good source of protein and I use the golden syrup 2-minute packets because golden or maple syrup is a better source of sugar that just adding pure sugar, in my opinion.
Mangos, Blueberries and Whipped Cream/Ice Cream – Also Exquisite
I would say that the most tiring aspect of this recipe is cutting up the mango, especially if you want it to be really juicy and are the type of person who waits until your mango is extremely ripe before you cut into it. It is definitely safe for you to say that mangos may not be as high in antioxidants as blueberries but I would also suggest that you should consider these as alternatives to store brought cookies and sweets as they do indeed contain good sugars (obviously when balanced and not eaten in excess). Good sugars include fructose, glucose and sucrose, which are less densely packed than in a chocolate bar or sweet. That being said, if I wanted to add something slightly sweeter, I would probably add melted or dark chocolate because it will still be high in antioxidants that help to fight off those free radicals and protect you from excessive sugar consumption.
